These photos show some of the over 2,000 cameras and lenses on display at the Vintage Camera Museum, 11 High Street, Carshalton, SM5 3AP. Highlights include a Leica M3 rangefinder with its collapsible Leitz Elmar 5cm lens (made from 1954), the Leica III screw-mount rangefinder, the Leicaflex SL with a Summicron-R 50mm, the medium-format Rolleiflex SL66 with its bellows focusing, and the Rolleicord twin-lens reflex.
From Japan come the Canon AE-1, A-1 and AV-1 – the cameras that brought automatic exposure to millions in the late 1970s – and the Olympus Pen F, a half-frame SLR. Use the buttons to filter by maker or type, and click a photo to see it full size.
